Take the Pure Sex Challenge!

Yesterday, I challenged everyone to take the Pure Sex Challenge. What is it? It's a 7 Day commitment you take between you and God where, for the next 7 days, you will do sex God’s Way.

For singles and married couples, the call is to complete sexual purity for the next 7 days. To be mindful about what we watch. What we read. What we linger on. What we look at. What we say.

No porn. No sex outside of marriage. For the next 7 days. To honor God completely 100% with our bodies.

For married couples, there is another level. It’s not just about staying away from the evil stuff outside the guardrails. For too long, the church has emphasized what we’re against rather than what we’re for. God is for marriage. God is for intimacy. And God is for sexual intimacy in marriage. That is the goal. It isn’t just about staying away from the bad. It’s about pursuing the good.

So I want to challenge you married couples. For the next 7 days? Pursue intimacy at an elevated level in your marriage. Yes, even sexual intimacy. Have more sex. Come on men—Amen me! And ladies! Why? Because this is God’s way. It is His gift. He has given us this inside the guardrails to protect us from what’s outside the guardrails.

Here are some Bible verses that might help you out and for you even to commit to memory when you find yourself struggling.

Job 31:1 I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman.

Psalm 119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Proverbs 4:23-27 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. 24 Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. 26 Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. 27 Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Psalm 51:1-4, 10 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love (the Bible says Nothing can separate us from the love of God); according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
